Soft and Funky Music for Yoga-ing

Recently I’d been feeling like my playlists were too wordy. The words drew me into the music instead of into my own body and spirit.

Enter—a simple playlist. There are words, but it’s not popular songs you’re going to want to sing along to. Big thanks to Rich Gonshak for introducing me to the funkier side of this playlist in one of his Friday evening classes!

“Gayatri Mantra,” Deva Premal
“Om Mani Padne Hum,” Deva Premal
“Jungle Fresh,” Gorillaz, Space Monkeys
“Strickly Rubbadub,” Gorillaz, Space Monkeys
“Monkey Racket,” Gorillaz, Space Monkeys
“Mutant Genuis,” Gorillaz, Space Monkeys
“Crooked Dub,” Gorillaz, Space Monkeys
“Ong Namo,” Snatam Kaur
“Brahma Nandam,” Deva Premal

If you’re like me, you may imagine the Cylons attacking during the Gayatri Mantra . . . breath into it 😉

Well now I have to go watch Battlestar Galactica . . . And you know how that’s going to turn out . . .

I went ahead and created a Spotify playlist of these songs, and on the off-chance that you/your readers use Spotify as well, made it collaborative so that anyone can add their own music into the mix!
